It’s a new year, and maybe the secret to making it a great year is to do just that...MAKE IT A GREAT NEW YEAR!

Greatness can’t be wished into reality. It takes real effort to achieve goals. Oh, and a dash of luck doesn’t hurt either. So don’t be afraid to make a list of the things you want to achieve in 2019, and see just how many things occur as the months go by.

I don’t know if it’s a resolution, but I’m on board to embrace the concept of making things happen. I’m already starting with promoting my new novel that has been in the works for years. I’m happy to see it finally published. It’s called In the Shadow of Eleanora Delancey, and I truly hope readers will take the time to check it out on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. The story revolves around my character, an ordinary secretary named Eleanora Delancey (a.k.a. Nora), who experiences a not so ordinary, teensy, possible nervous breakdown three days before her twenty-second birthday. Lucky for Nora there happens to be a therapy division on the ninth floor of her office building. To appease her employer and to make sure she’s not fired for being a little emotionally unhinged just once in front of everybody, she agrees to have a session with a psychologist. She doesn’t know what to expect when she first meets Dr. Dominick Mathers. What she never imagined is despite his curious, scraggly excuse for a mustache that he would otherwise be an attractive, young, green-eyed cutie pie who makes therapy on and off the couch hard to resist.

I’m also proud that I had a chance to display some of my artwork at two exhibits in Manhattan and Long Island last year. Participating in those showcases inspired me to create about 20 new works of art. This year, I want to keep the creativity going with more exhibits in the future. I recently wrote a new poem inspired by one of my latest collage paintings titled “THE CITY IN MY DREAMS”. I’m eager to see what new writings (stories or poems) will be completed as the months go by.

I decided to have a Facebook page to share some of my literary and artistic whimsy whenever inspiration strikes. Those of you who are familiar with my humor book titled Funny?: A potentially humorous collection of writing and art will appreciate seeing the child character from that book named Little Jackie featured on my page each week in color. She made appearances in my art displays last year to the delight of many, and I will have a lot of fun introducing her to new viewers on Facebook.

February is just around the corner. This year is already speeding forward, but don’t let it race by you without exploring some of the hopefully amazing surprises the universe has in store.

So happy 2019, and happy reading!

PG
